Non-marketable securities are unable to be sold in secondary markets. Pieces issued, pieces redeemed, and average years to maturity refers only to paper bonds prior to October 2014. Beginning in October 2014, electronic bonds are included in pieces redeemed but not pieces issued or average years to maturity. Amounts sold, amounts outstanding, and amount of interest refer to both paper and electronic bonds.
